Preventive dentistry helps you limit tooth decay, gum inflammation and bad breath through regular check-ups, scaling and polishing, and guidance on proper care. It is the foundation for a healthy smile and saves on treatment costs later.

At Asahii, oral hygiene care is gentle and comfortable, with modern equipment. Your dentist recommends a personalised care routine based on your eating habits and lifestyle.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I have scaling and polishing?

Usually every 4–6 months. If you drink a lot of coffee or tea, smoke, or build up plaque quickly, your dentist may recommend a shorter interval.

Does scaling wear down teeth or widen the gaps between them?

No. Scaling uses ultrasonic vibration on plaque and tartar and does not wear down tooth enamel. The feeling of “gaps” comes from the tartar being removed.

What are the signs that I need a cleaning soon?

Gums that bleed when you brush, bad breath, yellow stains from plaque, red swollen gums, or sensitivity that lasts.

Is there anything I should avoid eating or drinking after scaling?

For the first 24 hours, limit very hot or cold food and drinks, dark-coloured food and drinks (coffee, tea) and smoking, so your gums can settle.

How should I care for my teeth at home?

Brush twice a day, floss or use a water flosser every day, rinse with a fluoride mouthwash and replace your toothbrush every 3 months.
